A Precision Bar Existing Solutions Couldn't Meet

Maintaining the P-8 requires safe, repeatable access to elevated service points across the fuselage, tail, nose, and mission systems areas. Boeing needed access systems engineered to internal operational tolerances that exceeded baseline OSHA requirements — and each maintenance zone demanded a custom solution built around distinct aircraft contours and elevations.

Meeting OSHA is the floor. Boeing's internal safety and dimensional standards sat above it, so the platforms had to be engineered to the tighter of the two on every zone — not compliant on average.

02 The solution

Four Interfacing Stands, One Modular System

JE designed and manufactured OSHA-compliant access platforms tailored specifically to P-8 operational requirements. The system is modular, allowing complete access to both the P-8 and 737 airframes through four interfacing stand types built around real maintenance workflows.

Modularity, and what it bought

One system services two airframes.

Because the stands interface rather than enclose, the same four types give complete access to both the P-8 and the 737 it derives from — so a facility maintaining both doesn't buy two families of equipment.
