C-17 Engine Stand Relocation & Modernization

The Air Force needed more than a transportation provider — a partner to safely dismantle, transport, reassemble and upgrade complex maintenance equipment as one turnkey programme.

01 The challenge

Five Stages, and Nowhere to Drop the Baton

Existing C-17 engine maintenance stands needed to be relocated and returned to operational service at Charleston, South Carolina — requiring safe disassembly, careful documentation, transportation, and reassembly without compromising functionality or creating extended downtime.

02 The solution

Documented Before Anything Was Touched

JE deployed a team to conduct an on-site assessment, then documented configurations, safely dismantled the stands, coordinated transportation to Charleston, and reassembled and commissioned the equipment — implementing Air Force-requested upgrades directly during reinstallation.

03 Operational impact

Existing Assets Preserved and Upgraded, Not Replaced

One partner managed the full program — assessment through reassembly and support — preserving valuable maintenance assets, minimizing downtime, and enhancing long-term usability through upgrades incorporated during the move itself.

Rather than procuring new equipment, JE relocated and enhanced existing C-17 engine maintenance stands — completing site assessment, disassembly, transport, reassembly, and Air Force-requested upgrades as a single turnkey program.

Let's Turn Your Requirements Into a Solution

Moving equipment rather than replacing it? Ask about the upgrades that can be built in while it is already apart.
